The Redwalls are a four-piece straight out of high school in Deerfield, Illinois, who sound like they wish the last 30 years had never happened. Brothers Logan and Justin Baren (on vocals and bass, respectively), guitarist Andrew Langer, and drummer Ben Greeno are clearly besotted with R&B-suffused rock 'n' roll as played by the Stones, the Faces and the Beatles (especially the Beatles), but -- unlike contemporaries such as the Libertines -- are firmly of the opinion that punk is, indeed, dead. As frontman Logan Baren explains on the band's web site: "We never fit in, but rock 'n' roll's not a dated thing. There are other bands out there right now doing it as well, like Coldplay, the Strokes or Brian Jonestown Massacre." Whatever your take on their revivalist stance, rest assured that Redwalls will follow their rock 'n' roll path to its conclusion, clad in the finest fashions pounds, shillings and pence can buy.
