Conceived in a club, Madison Avenue unite the pop-sensitive talents of Melbourne DJ Andy Van with the coquettish vocals of professional dancer Cheyne Coates. A bright spotlight turned on the duo in 2000, when their memorable house anthem "Don't Call Me Baby" topped the charts in Australia and the U.K., marking the first time an Aussie dance act ruled the British charts. Later that year, Madison Avenue produced another hit, "Who the Hell Are You," from the same album, Polyester Embassy. It also reached number one, but only in Oz.
