Vengaboys is a Dutch Eurodance music group and the brainchild of Dutch producers Wessel van Diepen and Dennis van den Driesschen (Danski and Delmundo) and consists of lead (female) vocalists Kim Sasabone (Born Salvador, State of Bahia, Brazil 1974) and Denise Post-Van Rijswijk ( Born Vlaardingen, Netherlands 1978) and male vocalists Robin Pors( Born Vlaardingen, Netherlands1978) and Donny Latupeirissa.
The group enjoyed commercial success in the late 1990s. They are best known for their hit singles "We Like to Party! (The Vengabus)", "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!" and "We're Going to Ibiza!". Scoring a massive 7 top 10 and two number one hits in the U.K. Top 40. Plus reaching the top of the charts in over 40 countries including Germany, India, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, Poland, Australia, Mexico and more. They have sold an estimated 25 million records worldwide.
On 2 May 2001, the World Music Awards awarded Vengaboys with the award for best-selling dance group of the year.
And the hits just kept coming; Shalala lala, Kiss (When the sun don’t shine), Uncle John From Jamaica all became solid top 5 hits around the World. As a matter of fact, EVERY Vengaboys
single released, became a UK Top 40 hit..
To celebrate the success with the fans, the group... Read More... organised a massive World Tour through Europe, the U.S., Australasia, Japan and South America. Then the team decided to call it quits for a while.
In 2007 the group reformed and embarked on what is now known as their “Non-stop World Tour”.
In 2019, Dutch online newspaper Nu.nl declared Vengaboys as the most successful Dutch pop group in history.
