An accomplished drummer with impressive credentials, Gota Yashiki is also a multifaceted producer and composer. He learned how to play (traditional Japanese) drums from his father in Kyoto, Japan, and as an adult went on to drum and sing in reggae-influenced bands like Rude Flower, Mute Beat and Melon. Collaborations with dance acts such as Soul II Soul ?û Yashiki played drums and bass on "Back to Life" ?û led to work with more mainstream artists, including Sinead O'Connor, Simply Red, Seal and Bj??rk. As a solo artist, Yashiki gets much respect for his rich, contemporary jazz style.
