The first platinum-selling artist on Bad Boy Records, Craig Mack hit it big with the single "Flava In Ya Ear" (and its remix, featuring an early appearance by Biggie) off his 1994 album Project: Funk Da World. After working with EPMD previously and releasing the much-loved '88 track "Get Retarded" (under the name MC EZ & Troop), Mack had finally hit it big. However, the massive success of the Notorious B.I.G. led him to sever ties with Bad Boy, releasing a '97 follow-up that was largely ignored. In '98 he had some legal drama with Dr. Dre, and in 2000 he dropped a white-label 12-inch produced by Mark The 45 King called "The Wooden Horse." Also in 2000, he put out the "Brand New Nigga" single, and "Get Retarded" was featured on the Ego Trip's The Big Playback compilation. Rumor has it he's working on a new album, tentatively titled That's My Word.
