Known by his fans as the King of the Broken Hearts, George Glenn Jones has been blessed with one of the most distinctive, influential and golden voices in the history of country music. Infatuated with the music of Hank Williams at a dangerously young age, Jones spent the better part of his youth playing in smoky honky-tonks until he developed a songwriting style that spawned nearly as many chart-toppers as Eddy Arnold. Like many of the great country singer-songwriters, Jones is an authentic soul who has always put his life into his songs, which tell tales of debauchery and the downtrodden through his personal battles with alcoholism, divorces, drug binges and other emotional torments. Shortly after Jones hit the charts hard with the platinum-selling widow's anthem "He Stopped Loving Her Today" in 1980, he married his fourth wife, cleaned up and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Although Jones hasn't hit the charts in a while, he continues to tour with his loyal backing band the Jones Boys.
