Maybe the biggest band to come out of Sweden since Abba, The Cardigans' 1996 mega-hit "Lovefool" was instantly recognizable for the distinctive cotton candy vocals of Nina Persson. The band made penning melodies that were as eternally fresh and instantly consumable as Twinkies sound easy. It's not easy, of course -- at least not always. In the case of the Cardigans, there is evidence of carefully refined talent beneath the whimsy.
