Onetime character on Adam 12 and yet another member of the country music pantheon who's done time, Johnny Rodriguez flourished in the mid-'70s and well into the '80s playing traditionally-flavored cowboy country. With a nasal, barely-there rasp and lush, mid-tempo backing, he falls somewhere between the smooth Honky-Tonk of Lefty Frizzel and the homegrown Outlaw Country of Willie Nelson.
