Peter Nero has always been a tangy jazz pianist, but he had such success at Ez Listening orchestral recordings in the 1960s that only this aspect of his career has stuck in the public mind. Oddly enough, his "square" recordings are popular again (with Lounge-loving hipsters this time around), while his latest jazz trio recordings continue to be undervalued.
