A former member of the boy band 3-2 Get Funky, Mickey grew into his new sound as part of Puerto Rico's underground rap scene. He started producing and composing for artists like Olga Tanon, Lisa M. and Obie Bermudez while polishing his reggaeton chops on the side. The work paid off when he released his solo debut Evolucion Arrestada in 2004, just as reggaeton was preparing for its crossover bid.
