BLIND FAITH Vinyl Records and CDs

In 1969, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood each found themselves free of their bands heavy blues acid rock kings Cream and Traffic, respectively -- which had been experimenting with jazz and rock before collapsing under the weight of multiple egos. The pair ended up jamming with former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, and one of rock's first supergroups, Blind Faith, was born. The trio recorded one short album, which yielded the staples "Can't Find My Way Home" and "Presence of the Lord," and embarked on a highly successful but personally disastrous (for Clapton) U.S. tour. The group broke up before recording a second album, and Clapton dissolved his superstar persona into the relatively obscure, completely stoned, easygoing country rock band Delaney & Bonnie before forming Derek and the Dominoes.
