From his early days as Genesis' original front man, through his time as MTV-savvy hit-maker, and onto his current incarnation as a multi-media wizard, Peter Gabriel has fashioned a career that has seen him achieve great success while also maintaining a level of innovation not usually associated with commercial musicians. Though mostly known for big hits such as "Sledgehammer," Gabriel has also served as something of a world music envoy via his adventurous experiments in the realm of film soundtracks and his work as organizer of the WOMAD festival.
