| Barry Craig (1947-2003) was an American professional singer and pianist. A 20-year US Navy veteran, he served in Vietnam for four years. He recorded his first record on the Halmark label in Boston in 1968 and during the 1970s played with bands wherever he was stationed. While stationed near the Great Lakes, he toured the Midwest with the Navy rock group "Lifeboat” and produced three records.
He was the first vocalist to graduate from the prestigious Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1976, he recorded “The Spirit of America” for the Bicentennial and the National Association of Broadcasters. In 1981, he started what became an annual performance, singing the National Anthem at the Little League World Series. |
