Xmal Deutschland are the odd German band on Goth central label 4AD. Their icy stoicism invites comparison to austere, totalitarian proclivities in the German character, but such overgeneralizations are never fruitful. Suffice it to say their heavily synthetic, colorless gloom befits goths perfectly by allowing them to dance and look lost in morbid introspection at the same time.
