The product of SoCal songwriting duo Anna-Lynn Williams and Matt Brown, Trespassers William nurture a captivating, accessible sound akin to Cowboy Junkies or maybe Sara McLachlan. Warm, watery guitars navigate subtly heartsick melodies and rhythms, the songs finally cinched by Williams' haunting, beautifully transparent alto voice. It takes a certain instrumental virtuosity to boil the contrivance from such simple, dangerously catchy songs and this band succeeds where others fall flat.
