Conditions and Grading

RECORD GRADING
Please Note that Condtion of Media (record) and Cover (picture sleeve and inserts) are mentioned seperately.
Mint: The Record and Cover are brand New.
Near Mint: Cover appears new at first glance. There will be some barely noticeable wear. Cover artwork colors are full, but may be subdued. White areas may show some very slight mellowing
Excellent: Cover shows some very minor wear, but no serious defects. Cover artwork colors are complete, but may show some minor friction or light flaking. The corners will still be relatively sharp. May show some age mellowing of the white and colored areas.
Very Good: Some moderate wear will be noticeable on artwork, but there will be no serious problems. There will be no major fraying of the corners.

Good To Very Good: Cover shows heavy wear. Portions of the cover artwork may be almost worn off and may show some scratches, or other major abuses. Corners may be very tattered.

Good: Cover shows very heavy wear. Some portions of the cover artwork may be worn off. Corners may be rounded. There may be some serious scratches, tears, splits, or other serious problems.

Fair: Cover shows extreme wear and major portions of cover artwork may be missing. Cover may have very serious scratches and tears, or other disfiguring defects.

Poor: Mutilated, but identifiable.

The following are the grading standards for all Vinyl Records.
Mint: Vinyl has no significant imperfections. Vinyl gloss is full. No label wear should be evident. Label has no major imperfections. Label should display full, original color, but may have a spindle mark or two.
Near Mint: Vinyl has a few minor imperfections. Vinyl gloss nearly full. Label wear, if any, should be barely detectable. May have a few minor label imperfections. Label should display full, original color, although it may be somewhat subdued. Record should play without surface noise.

Excellent: Vinyl has a few noticeable imperfections. Vinyl should display some gloss. May have slight label wear. May display some label imperfections, but nothing major. May exhibit slight fading of label color. Record may play with some very slight surface noise, but nothing distracting.

Very Good: Vinyl has noticeable, but not major, imperfections. May display some original gloss. Label can show some wear, but cannot have large areas of wear. Can have some noticeable label imperfections. Record may play with some slight surface noise, but nothing that impedes the sound.

Good: Vinyl has some major imperfections. Label may be very worn. Label may have some major imperfections. Label may exhibit definite fading or discoloration. Record will play with noise but no skips.

Fair: Both vinyl and label exhibit major abuses to the surfaces. Major portions of the lettering and label design may be missing. Record may barely play through.

Poor: Vinyl has so many imperfections that the record may not be playable. Label may be barely readable.

Return Policy

All items are guaranteed to YOUR satisfaction - I have made every effort to describe items as accurately as possible although gradings are by their nature subjective. (see the grading policy)
I can only accept returns which you consider do not match the grading criteria for sound quality, cover, inserts etc. and, of course, if you consider any other aspect of description is misleading or incorrect.
It is essential that you contact me first with any problems (especially by email) as i will endeavour to rectify the situation to your satisfaction immediately - i do make mistakes from time to time and cannot physically listen to every item i sell, therefore i sometimes i have to grade visually.
If you're not satisfied with the item i gladly refund your money upon returning of the goods - which must be returned in the same condition as sent out - with any seals intact if applicable.
However, Shipping cost for sending the goods back have to be borne by yourself.
Please note, it is advisable that you insure any return package, as i cannot refund it if it is not received for at this end.
If you are dissatisfied with an order please contact me first, don't feel embarrassed to inform me. I'd rather know than lose your future custom (and my reputation) and please don't panic into thinking i'm going to "rip you off" - it simply will not happen, be assured

Just a few lines to introduce BITSANDGROOVES and myself, Jan Van den Ouwelant , to let you know whom you're dealing with.
I'm a private music collector who started collecting records during the end of the sixties. My collection kept on growing and with the start of the internet, I became interested in selling part of my collection on the web. Doing this now since 1999.
Today, I still look for hard to find vinyl records as well as for oop cd's.
I live in Belgium and own thousands of cd's and vinyl records (33-45-EP's-etc. )
As i'm a dedicated collector myself you can be shure that all records are kept in the best possible conditions.
All cds listed are brand new and unplayed. (unless stated otherwise), all vinyl is in at least excellent condition. Unless stated otherwise. Each record is cleaned manually before it leaves my shelves. All items are carefully packed and send out within 24 hours of payment.
