Review
Shearing found fame as a swing pianist, a bebop cat, and as an easy-listening maven but his single greatest success lay in the creation of his cool quintet, which could work as a jazz outfit or as a lounge vehicle when strings were added. On this 1973 set, Shearing brings back his quintet  and its much-copied shimmering piano/vibes/guitar sound.
