Playing music and singing since he was a young child, Maryland soul man MarlonSaunders attended both the Peabody Conservatory of Music and Berklee School of Music in Boston, honing his talents while performing live on a steady basis. After graduation, he moved to New York and wrote commercial music for Miller Lite, while also founding the critically acclaimed acid-jazz crew Jazzhole. He then joined forces with a vocal group called Sepia and did studio work with a wide array of superstars, including Barry White, Sting and Michael Jackson. He then started touring with Voicestra, Bobby McFerrin's backing group. In 2003, Saunders released his debut solo LP Enter My Mind, winning fans over with his warm instrumentation, classically minded vocals and positive, uplifting lyricism. He also leads his own band called Mood Control, with whom he recorded 2005's A Groove So Deep: The Live Sessions.
